Overview
Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Environmental Wastewater Engineer to join our team in one of our major Canadian offices (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina or Markham).
This leadership position is for individuals interested in leading big-picture, front-end planning work for wastewater management systems that may contain collection systems, treatment facilities, effluent management and biosolids management systems or some combination of these elements.
What you’ll do
This leadership role focuses on planning and leading front-end wastewater management projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead planning projects for wastewater management systems, including collection, treatment, effluent management and biosolids considerations
- Develop and mentor junior staff; collaborate with wastewater process engineers, environmental scientists and infrastructure engineers
- Develop the wastewater management area of the core Water practice and contribute to business development
- Prepare master planning studies, regulatory assessments and resource recovery analyses that may include solid waste and potable water elements
- Provide continuity from earlier planning efforts through design and implementation support
- Maintain strong client liaison and contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation
- Contribute to marketing efforts through conference presentations

Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering from an accredited university
- A graduate degree in environmental engineering with related wastewater management thesis is an asset
- Eligibility for professional licensing with applicable provincial association (e.g. PEO, APEGBC, APEGA)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in wastewater engineering/management
- Demonstrated knowledge in a specific technical area of wastewater engineering
- Experience with Class EA process (Ontario) or Liquid Waste Management Plan/Municipal Wastewater Regulation processes (BC)
- Triple-bottom-line evaluation and risk assessment experience is an asset
- Experience in a consulting engineering environment
- Effective project leadership, management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work with diverse teams
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
