What You’ll Do
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities, feature gaps, and data-driven recommendations that drive business initiatives.
- Design and implement data visualization tools and dashboards in Power BI using best practices, advanced DAX modeling, and reusable design patterns.
- Design and optimize data models using dimensional modeling, star schemas, and modern semantic business layers (e.g., Databricks Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL) to ensure scalability, performance, and data governance.
- Create and implement frameworks and methodologies for data analysis and reporting, documenting best practices, standards, and analytical approaches in wiki to ensure knowledge sharing and platform health.
- Act as the translator between technical and non-technical teams.
- Present data insights and visualizations throughout the business.
- Stay current with emerging analytics platforms and technologies, evaluating how new capabilities can benefit the organization.
- Support the development of client-facing analytics capabilities, understanding reporting and analytical needs across both internal and external users.
- Contribute to AI-powered analytics initiatives, exploring how machine learning and AI features can enhance internal operations and client-facing solutions.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst, with proficiency in Python, SQL, and Power BI, plus strong interest in expanding into Data Engineering and Data Science.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering) preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Databricks) are a strong plus.
- Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including advanced DAX modeling, performance optimization, and enterprise-scale implementations.
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis using SQL and other analytical tools.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and working with data processing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, or similar technologies.
- Comfortable and adaptable working across different reporting and analytics tools, tool-agnostic with the ability to quickly evaluate and adopt new platforms.
- Strong data storytelling skills and visualization experience.
- Interest in contributing to AI-powered analytics, with awareness or experience applying machine learning and AI capabilities to solve business problems.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident working with large datasets in Excel.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to organize and understand complex data.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse groups of people.
- Comfort using VS Code to manage code and Power BI projects held in a git repository.
- Strong documentation habits, maintaining clear and up-to-date wiki documentation of frameworks, methodologies, best practices, and analytical work to support team collaboration.
- Ability to interrogate vague or incomplete requirements
- Experience managing stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning/development in the evolving data technology landscape (especially Microsoft)
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of data modeling including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and Microsoft Fabric.
Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog, semantic business layers, and modern data governance approaches.
- Experience in the ticketing or live event industry
