Job Description
Support the execution of Molybdenum sales strategy
.

The role is focused on supporting 3rd party sourcing initiatives, managing material flow to and from roasters and support in creating new customer and sales opportunities with a view to maximising the sustainable value of the molybdenum book within risk and governance policies.

Provide key insights into local and regional markets, suppliers, customers, roasters and competitors across the sales and marketing book.

Sales Strategy and Plans

  • Support the Physical Trader Moly (LATAM) in the development of the regional sales plan in the near to medium term.

  • Closely manage domestic relationships for MoOx and other molybdenum and ferro alloy opportunities in the region.

Sales Performance

  • Support the PhysicalTrader Moly (LATAM) in maximising the value of the sales book in the region by optimizing MoOx and concentrate allocations.

  • Understand customer specific value-in-use of molybdenum and customer trade-offs to create customer-specific sales / marketing solutions.

  • Support the development of new routes to market such as distribution channels and warehousing
  • Leverage data analytics and market insights to track sales performance, identify improvement areas, and implement actions that drive sustained revenue growth and margin optimization.

Customer & 3rd Party Supplier Relationship Management

  • Manage existing regional customers and 3rd party supplier accounts and support the development of new customers, including concentrate and MoOx supply opportunities.

  • Build customer and supplier development plans focusing on a customer/supplier centric material solutions provision approach
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and consumers of molybdenum and ferro alloys products.

Roaster Relationship Management

  • Manage and support relationships with toll roasters, identifying value creating opportunities
  • Build understanding of the roasting business and understand roaster value levers
  • Work closely with the Specialist - Book Optimisation Moly and Toll Processing Specialist to drive roaster efficiencies and cost optimization

Asset Liaison

  • Proactively manages relationships with joint-venture operations (Collahuasi), (Los Bronces) and Quellaveco to maximize value from our molybdenum concentrates
  • Coordinate communication between Marketing and the JVs to promote understanding and support identification of value-creating opportunities
  • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual production, sales plans and forecasts to ensure full alignment between Sales, ISOP and Finance
  • Maintain strong engagement with asset teams, ensuring a clear understanding of production drivers while fostering greater commercial awareness and alignment with business objectives

Business Development

  • Develop and establish relationships with South American suppliers / processors to identify value adding toll processing and purchasing opportunities
  • Support short and long term sourcing activities and initiatives
  • Identify potential sourcing and origination targets as part of longer term growth strategy
  • Support and / or implement new commercial opportunities in the molybdenum and ferro alloys market through internal and external working relationships and interactions beyond immediate team
  • Support the implementation of regional and market development strategies

Market Intelligence

  • Act as a source of market, customer and competitor intelligence for the molybdenum and ferro alloys markets in South America.

  • Monitor trade and production data for the region to provide timely information to sales and marketing team
  • Provide timely, accurate and relevant information to support the Manager - Physical Trading Molybdenum and Specialist - Book Optimisation Moly in commercial decision making

Risk and Governance

  • Execute the commodity regional strategy within Marketing's defined risk and governance framework.

  • Support the goal of building a zero-breach culture.

Sales & Marketing Growth

  • Support the growth of the molybdenum and ferro alloys sales and marketing business including identifying and executing 3rd party sourcing opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Sales Operations, Legal, Contract Administration, and ISOP teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial activities.

  • Work with Legal and Contract Administration to secure robust, compliant, and value-adding commercial agreements.

  • Engage with ISOP to align sales forecasts and production plans, ensuring consistency across the business.

  • Foster transparent communication and knowledge sharing across functions to drive efficiency and support commercial decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree: Civil Engineer, Business Administration or related degree
  • 8+ years of experience and technical / product knowledge in the marketing and physical trading of base metals commodities (desirable molybdenum concentrates/finished products or ferro alloys)

Knowledge
Knowledge of supply and consumption of molybdenum and other ferro alloys in stainless, carbon, and specialty steel markets
