We are seeking a dedicated Lead PHP Developer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive PHP expertise and hands‑on development experience, with a strong focus on improving and refactoring legacy systems while building new, scalable features.
This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our product.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and enhance the client’s legacy product, primarily developed in PHP (Sugar/SuiteCRM) and Java backend
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, improve system performance and stability, and propose architectural upgrades
- Develop new product features in collaboration with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and other teams
- Advocate for clear and effective solutions while supporting the development of new features
- Manage onboarding for new clients and implement custom design changes based on client requirements
- Collaborate closely with vendor development teams, including teams based in India
- Act as a client‑facing representative, ensuring effective communication and alignment with American clients
- Provide support for future migration projects, including transitioning from AWS to Azure
- Review existing architectural solutions and offer guidance on best practices
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in PHP development
- Minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing development teams
- Proficiency with PHP 5+ and optimization tools like OPCACHE/APC and PHP linters
- Strong experience with MySQL, including knowledge of transactions, ACID principles, and slow log analysis
- Familiarity with CodeReview processes and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands‑on experience with Docker for containerized application development
- Knowledge of Redis or Memcache for caching solutions
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Fluent English skills, both written and spoken, at a B2+ level or higher
Nice to have
- Familiarity with .NET technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Skills in refactoring using tools like xDebug
- Knowledge of profiling tools such as xhproof
- Experience with SugarCRM development and customization
