Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Experience and skills:
Ideally, the candidate will have experience or knowledge in earthworks, soil stabilisation, residential and commercial site development, road construction, and/or drainage.
Practical familiarity with soil sampling, in-situ testing, and laboratory geotechnical methods would be a significant advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, geotechnical design software, and Excel is expected.
Personal attributes:
Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to both office and fieldwork environments are essential.
Advanced level of English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Permanent, full-time
Location:
Combination of office and site-based work across Shannon Valley projects in Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the execution of geotechnical site visits and the review of ground investigation investigations.
- Support geotechnical aspects of housing and residential development projects, particularly soil stabilisation and ground improvement works.
- Oversee soil investigations including sampling procedures, in-situ testing, and coordination of laboratory testing.
- Ensure that all fieldwork and reporting activities comply with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in the preparation of reports, including data analysis, findings, conclusions, and engineering recommendations.
- Support other engineers in geotechnical assessments for earthworks, soil stabilisation, and infrastructure projects.
- Use engineering software tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, geotechnical analysis packages) and Excel for design, data processing, and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
- 0–3 years of professional experience in civil or geotechnical engineering.
- Understanding of soil mechanics and applied geotechnical principles.
- Knowledge of in-situ and laboratory testing techniques (desirable).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, geotechnical design software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in both team-based and independent settings.
